1. Out of Bounds
Defined by the inside points at ground level of white stakes/lines and/or beyond the centre of any hedge surrounding the course.
2. Water Hazards
Identified by Yellow stakes or unmarked – Rule 26.
3. Lateral Water Hazard
Identified by Red stakes – Rule 26.
4. Staked Trees
If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of the intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with Rule 24-2b(i).
5. Roads & Pathways
Treat as immovable obstruction – Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief in accordance with Rule 24-2(b).
6. Stones In Bunkers
Treat as moveable obstructions – Rule 24-1.
7. Sprinkler Heads
Treat as immovable obstruction – Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief in accordance with Rule 24-2(b).
8. Ground Under Repair
Relief MUST be taken in accordance with Rule 25-1(b).
9. Distance Measuring Devices
For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance measuring device. If, during play, a player uses a distance measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.
